We are Central Illinois' foremost designer and builder of outdoor living areas. Our company was founded on extending the liveable home into the great outdoors. Not only do we design and build the most desireable open air living quarters, we can also give the rest of your home exactly what you want or need with the same attention to detail.
I began specializing in house remodeling in 1987, eventually expanding to full-time in 1994, when my wife and I established Hawkins Custom Builders. At that time I specialized in custom decks, because there seemed to be few companies meeting the demand for the natural-wood deck trend, but room additions and remodeling have always been a service of our company as well.
My dad instilled in me quality, honesty, and integrity, traits that have a way of coming full circle through my customer base and traits that have set Hawkins Custom Builders apart from other construction companies and have helped it remain in business for over ten years while other small construction companies have come and gone.
Since HCB was established, my life has continued to be blessed with a wonderful, supportive wife, but many additional blessings have come my way - a large farm where I have set up my base of operations, three adopted children (Rachael, Alyssa, and Nathaniel), and good, honest employees. Our staff includes:
- Lewis Brown, productions specialist, who joined us this last year
- Rick Anderson, job superintendent, with over 20 years of experience
- Jeff Hales, job superintendent, with over 15 years of experience
- Mike Donaldson, carpenter, with over five years of experience
In addition to these talented people, we bring in other qualified carpenters and laborers on a seasonal basis and subcontract specialists for certain projects. So we are always ready and proud to supply references to our customers.
